AMMANN APA 72/74 — Add-On CompactorPOWER, PURE AND SIMPLEThe add-on compactor's’ versatility and robust design ensures it's ready to work at any time, in any application. The plate delivers excellent compaction power and impressive results.WHEN COMPACTION POWER IS WHAT REALLY MATTERSThis APA add-on compactor is built for the 10-tonne to 40-tonne excavator class and for applications where a strong compaction performance is required. Layers as thick as 1 metre can be compacted, providing significant time savings when compared to traditional vibratory plates. No Maintenance WorriesThe add-on compactors are hydraulic and require no separate power source. There is little maintenance and, given the few moving parts, a need for repairs rarely surfaces.Vibration Limitation SystemThe patented vibration limitation system directs forces toward the ground and away from the machine. Highly durable rubber shock mounts absorb the vibration to protect the excavator and ultimately the operator.Quick ChangesThese add-on compactors are compatible with all standard adapters on the market. The Ammann quick coupling system allows them to be connected and ready for action within seconds.Robust DesignThe compactor housing protects the central exciter unit. Bushings shield the housing from the vibrations and prevent metal-on-metal contact under extremely high pressure.Durable Base PlatesThe plates are made from wear-resistant steel to provide long life and durability, no matter how abrasive the compacted materials.High Compaction PowerSingle-Shaft ExciterSafe Control from CabSPECIFICATIONSStandard• Universal adapter plate for fast changes, compatible with all standard adapters on the market• Patented vibration reduction system• Self-blocking hydraulic rotator• Leak oil pipe• One amplitude• Ammann color design and decals• CE conformity• Standard hydraulic oilOptions• Adapter plate high• Without rotator• Maintenance kit• Color scheme customer• Certificate of origin• Additional documentation printedTHE ADD-ON MACHINE FOR LARGE EXCAVATORSDesigned for excavators in the 10- to 20-tonne class, Ammann's APA 72/74 is primarily used for applications that require high compaction performance. The Add-On Compactor provides impressive results, and is able to compact fill depths of more than half a meter in a single pass. Key features are the compactor’s versatility and rugged design, making it a reliable machine that is always ready for use.SAFETY• For work on steep inclines where compaction with a vibratory plate is not safe• Trench compaction from a safe distanceAPPLICATIONS• Add-On Compactors for excavators in the 10- to 20-tonne class• Pipeline and canal construction• Slope and hillside compaction• Confined work spaces, manhole compaction• Structure backfill work• Landfill• Track constructionAFTER SALES & SERVICESNo matter where you are, Ammann-trained technicians and parts are nearby.
