Cancelling in Florida

You may cancel the contract at any time. Florida's terms differ from the general ones:

• Within 60 days of the purchase date shown on your Identification Page — a full refund, less any claims paid. No processing fee, unless claims have been paid, in which case the fee is the lesser of $25 or 5% of the gross premium you paid.
• After 60 days — a pro-rata refund based on the term remaining, less any claims paid and a processing fee of the lesser of $25 or 10% of the unearned pro-rata purchase price.

American Honda may only cancel after the contract has been in effect for 60 days, and only for material misrepresentation or fraud at the time of sale, failure to maintain the outboard as the manufacturer prescribes, or non-payment.

Summary of coverage

• What it does — extends the Distributor's Limited Warranty on your outboard by 1, 2 or 3 years, up to 8 years total from your engine's purchase date.
• What it covers — repair or replacement of parts that fail through mechanical breakdown, meaning defects in materials or workmanship. Parts and labour, with no deductible and no hour limit, at any authorised Honda Marine dealer.
• Non-declining — worth the same in the final year as the first.
• Transferable — the remaining coverage passes to a subsequent owner.
• What it does not cover — batteries, propellers, accessories and rigging, routine maintenance, expendable items such as spark plugs, gaskets, filters, hoses, coolant, belts and lubricants, and damage from accident, neglect, misuse, alteration, wear and tear, or the elements.
• Your obligations — maintain the outboard to the schedule in the owner's manual and keep the records. Failures caused by lack of maintenance are not covered.
• Commercial use voids it — commercial use for hire, and rental, end coverage.
