To help with this, McHale concentrate on features like the patented hydraulic ground supported bale damper system, patented high-speed transfer system, patented tip rollers, hydraulically operated cut & hold system, 750mm dispensers and high specification components.These features ensure long working life, reliability and a machine rugged enough to handle the toughest crops, heaviest bales and roughest ground conditions.OVERVIEWThe McHale 991 L range of linkage round bale wrappers is the first choice for farmers and contractors who are interested in wrapping bales at the storage site. The 991 L range offers the perfect blend of tried and tested technology with solid construction and reliable performance. There are three models in the 991 linkage round bale wrapper range.The 991 LB is a manually operated machine where four individual levers control all wrapping functions. Powered by either a tractor or an independent power pack, the 991 LB control valve can either be mounted beside the dispenser post or just inside the tractor cab. The control unit measures the revolutions per minute and monitors the number of layers as they are being applied to the bale. The control unit enables the operator to change the number of film layers and store bale totals from different jobs.STANDARD SPECIFICATION• 750mm aluminum dispenser• Consistent film stretch, which maximises film usage• Quick Fit Dispenser• Hydraulically Operated Cut & Hold• A smooth wrapping seal is guaranteed as the machine delivers a 50% overlap• Wrapping table is constructed of four heavy-duty endless belts, which ensure smooth and consistent bale rotationFEATURESEXTRA FILM STORAGE WITH EASY HANDLINGThe 991 L range can carry 3 rolls of film: 1 roll (dispenser) + 2 rolls (film storage)CUT & HOLD SYSTEMAt the ends of the wrapping cycle, the hydraulically operated cut & hold system cuts and holds the film in position ready to wrap the next bale. Uniquely designed, this system works reliably and consistently in all weather conditions. The plastic is gathered to one point, cut and then pulled against the side of the bale so that tails are minimized.AUTOMATIC FILM BREAK SENSORSAutomatic film break sensors monitor the plastic as it leaves the dispenser rollers. If plastic breaks or runs out, the machine will notify the operator via the control console. If needed, the 991 High-Speed automatically switches to single dispenser mode, where the machine compensates for the broken or empty roll and ensures the bale is wrapped correctly.EASY LOAD DISPENSERSThe McHale lock and load system makes film loading quick and easy by locking the dispenser bobbin up when unloading and locking it back down by simply pulling the cable. All machines are fitted with 750mm aluminum dispensers, which provide a 70% film stretch. Other film stretch options are available on request.SHEAR BOLT UNITA Shear Bolt protects the gearbox when wrapping poorly shaped bales. All machines are now driven by a heavier gearbox than previous models. The gears are wider in diameter and have a larger tooth module on them, making them easier to drive. This heavy-duty gearbox contains a new key way protection system, which replaces the old roll pin system.CONTROL OPTIONSUsed on the base level machines, these simple levers control the functions on the wrappers. Used on both the 991 LB and the 991 BC, the levers control the lift arm (991 BC only), wrapping table, cut & hold and bale tip.Similar models may be shown in addition to the featured model.
